January 2008
On Friday April 4th and Saturday April 5th we will gather at Pastor Donna Neville’s church for prayer. A first of its kind for our Fellowship, to which our sole purpose will be to “ Pray for the Nations “. While we have endeavoured to minister in the areas of leadership, finances, and other most needful areas of ministry. We must ask ourselves why have we never gathered for the sole purpose of calling upon the one we serve and have given our lives to and ask for the nations? His word declares in Jeremiah#33:3, “ Call unto me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, which you know not of “. I believe that we as a Fellowship have come to such a time as this! A time, not to indict one another, but rather to assembly in one accord and plead to the Lord of the Harvest for a Global Harvest.
There are men and women from our Fellowship churches that have heeded the call to the nations. Many of whom are young, others who made mature decisions to return to their homelands, some whom by God’s grace have joined in our labours. The global need is beyond all of us, the task of world evangelism is so big that without HIM we cannot succeed! Things are forbidden to us that are not forbidden to HIM, simply put, because HE is God and we are not. The difference between the true God and the gods of the nations is that God carries and the other gods must be carried! God serves and they must be served! God centered missions exist for the sake of the name of Jesus. We cannot know what prayer is for until we know that life is war. Prayer is designed to extend the Kingdom into dark and fruitless enemy territory. Jim Eliot once said, “ That prayers and pains through faith in Christ Jesus will do anything “. The New Testament makes clear that God has not left His Great Commission to the uncertainties of the human will. Prayer is God’s appointed means of bringing grace to us and glory to HIMSELF !
There were at last count 264 nations, territories and dependencies in the world, 25 of which we labour in. Prayer humbles us as needy and exalts God as all-sufficient. The missionary purpose of God is as invincible as the fact that he is God. I believe the proclamation of the gospel in Word and Deed is the work of missions. Assemble with us on either Friday April 4th, 6:00 - 9:00 PM or Saturday April 5th 12:00(noon) - 3:00 PM or both. Bring as many from your church as possible and let us together call upon the one who rules the nations!
“ Great and amazing are your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty!
Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations !
Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify your Name!
For you alone are holy.
All nations will come and worship you, for your righteous acts have been revealed! “
REVELATION#15:3-4
God Bless!
